A. What Data We Collect
Skip Your Broker Inc. collects personal data from three primary sources:
- Data provided directly by users
- Data generated through your use of our services
- Data received from third parties
Each category and type of data is described in more detail below.
Data Provided by Users:
- Account Information: When creating or updating an account, users provide data such as full name, email address, phone number, login credentials, physical address, profile photo (if applicable), and payment or banking information (including payment verification details). For carriers (drivers or companies), we may also collect vehicle registration information, insurance details, emergency contact information, and the licenses required to perform auto transport services.
- Background Check Information (Carriers Only): When applying to use the platform as a carrier, individuals may undergo screening through authorized third-party providers. This may include driving history, driver’s license status, prior addresses, known aliases, and verification of U.S. DOT eligibility.
- Verification Documents and Photos: We may request government-issued identification (e.g., driver’s license or passport), which may include your photograph, date of birth, ID number, and gender. We may also request live selfies or images to confirm the authenticity of your account.
- Demographic Information: We may collect age, gender, or professional status when necessary to enable certain features or comply with legal requirements (e.g., confirming legal age to enter into a transport agreement). In some cases, gender may be inferred from the name.
- User-Generated Content and Communications: We store information provided in support messages, chat logs, call recordings, reviews, comments, and uploaded files. This includes interactions with our support team and with other users (e.g., shippers and carriers). Note: Ratings and reviews submitted by users regarding carriers or clients may be visible to other users of the platform and are used to promote transparency and trust.
- Trip and Order Information: When users input pickup/drop-off addresses, dates, and vehicle transport details, we collect this information to post shipment requests, allow carriers to submit bids, and assign transport jobs.
